Praise the Lord for He is so good! Yayy! We are currently expecting a bundle of joy. It's been so hard keeping this good news a secret. There are not enough words to describe how happy, thankful and blessed we are to receive one of the greatest blessings from God. The moment I found out was truly an unspeakable joy and Gunawan's reaction when I surprised him with a small box filled with my pregnancy test was priceless.
The whole process of becoming a mother is such a life-altering experience. To be able to feel that first move inside my womb is very exciting, happy that Gunawan got to feel our baby’s first move too. Our life is truly a process of letting God works and be fully surrendered to Him.
Talk about perfect timing, nothing beats God's perfect timing for He is never too early nor too late. Waiting can be very painful but we refused to feel so. We always try our best to be thankful for what God has given us by enjoying our life day by day with grateful hearts. To whoever you are beautiful women all around the world who are still waiting, here are some things I learned through times of waiting.
Never Let Your Mind Fools You.
Not being able to get pregnant yet is not something to be ashamed of, it's neither a curse nor even a punishment from God. No! Don't let the devil screw your mind by telling you that you're less than who you are. You are important to God, we all are. We're His beloved. God has beautiful plans for us all.
All the "what ifs" in our mind can definitely bring us down. "What if I have to wait for 10 years?", "What if we will never have a child?" and so on, you know, all those deceiving thoughts. We may not know when is the 'perfect timing' for every prayer we've prayed for but know that God is faithful and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear because no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
It's easy to give thanks when the blessings come, but we should always give thanks in every situation. Giving thanks to the Lord is an affirmation that He is a good God and believe He works all things together for good purposes.
Being thankful is very important, let us not murmur like the Israelites when God brought them out of Egypt to the land of promise. God’s anger was kindled against them and He made them wander in wilderness for 40 years until all the generation that sinned in the sight of the Lord was gone as a result of disbelief and murmur. It was supposed to be days instead of decades. This is one lesson I learned years ago that I’ve implemented in my daily life. Trust His plan, trust His timing. Give thanks for every little thing.
Surrender to God & Have Faith
Surrendering does not mean giving up, both have two big difference. Tim Curtis wrote "The difference between surrender and giving up is the difference between suffering (giving up) and being at peace (surrender).” Surrendering to God is surrendering all your struggle, worry and every ounce of fear to God by knowing God will make a way. We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
For me, surrendering everything to God is believing that everything I’ve been praying for will eventually happen in God’s perfect timing, but by giving up means not having faith at all. Giving up also means that you believe it will never happen, you believe there’s no way out and becoming hopeless.
Have faith! Trust God for everything that happens in your life, believe that everything happens for a reason! You heard this so many times in your life, I know, but it's true. We are still breathing right now because we still have purposes in life.
Do your best and let God do the rest. Do your best but do not lean to your own understanding moreover depend on your own strength. No matter how strong we think we are, we need strength from the Lord. Praying for strength is an expression of our humble dependence to the Lord, therefore, pray constantly and continually! Be honest, give Him all your worries and He will give you strength!
God has a reason for allowing things to happen in our life and it is always with a purpose whether it is to shape you, to prepare you or for you to turn to God. In my case it's a lil' bit of everything but most of all He wanted me to learn a lot. I've always prayed for a child that God will use for His glory. He knew the desire of my heart and He also knew that I need to prepare a lot of things to raise this child the right way, spiritually and physically.
If we were given this child right away after we got married I would've raised and handled our child the wrong way. The difference of the amount of knowledge I'm well aware right now is very significant compared to two years ago. Nothing you've been through is worthless because at the end of the day God is preparing you for what He has in store for you and He knows what He's doing. Never stop believing in God!
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24)
Happy new year everyone! We hope this post may inspire you, be patient, have faith, give thanks and never forget to constantly pray. God bless you all!
