Planning a wedding has its ups and downs especially a DIY wedding, everything is fairly doubled but the satisfaction afterwards was very pleasing and came full circle. This wedding felt very personalized for us because it was crafted with so much attention to details and personal touches that represent us as a couple.
Our wedding decorator, Melia, who happens to be my beautiful & talented sister, gave us enormously better ideas. Her ideas pretty much combined every detail of the ideas we wanted and evolved them into a wedding that portrayed us in every way, we were simply hooked. Almost every detail on our wedding is DIY made by me & my sister, from invitation, stationery, favor boxes, decoration props, bridesmaid boxes to little details like wax seals, cake topper, boutonnière, corsage and so on.
As explained on our previous post, we created a whimsical ceremony incorporated with blush and gold as our version of a timeless wedding. Blush is one of the so many shades of pink which has always been my favorite. It's not too pinkish, yet not peach enough. Gold on the other side, enhance every color in an astonishing way.
This gold gilded arch adorned with white & blush roses and a touch of peonies in a darker shade of blush is the perfect setting to have our wedding ceremony. Every details on our wedding is equally important, every element purely united into a beautiful dreamy wedding.
My sister and I have decorated some events at Palimanan and the wind is no joke. Using real flower petals for the flower carpet is clearly impossible so we printed a large ornament, cut it manually and glued each piece of those artificial flower petals. This is by far the most painful DIY I've ever made but it was worth all the pain and effort. The flower carpet without a doubt intensified the whole dreamy vibe we wanted.
Stay tuned for our future post "DIY Flower Carpet".
As one of the personal details, we used these beauteous floral watercolor design with Bible verses written on them along the aisle simply to remind us how important love is. To always remember that we love because God first loved us.
There are no greater compliments than being an inspiration for others. A lot of people have reached out to us and said how our wedding has inspired them. It was our ultimate goal at the first place, to inspire people. Let all the glory be to Jesus!
